Best lens money can buy. It really helps me zoom right into my son when his batting or in the field. I never used a filter yet, but i plan to next season. I think it will help a lot with the sun. I use it for my Sony HDR-CX160

Overall i am very pleased with this lens. I am finally able to zoom in on my son during his football games. I screwed this lens right directly onto my Sony CX550v and i was ready to go. I also like the option that i can use filters on this lens. It really helps on those sunny days. I will be back for the wide angle during the holidays. Thanks

Best lens i could find for my Sony camcorder. It's so small and light. I cant believe it has 2.5x power. The Japanese amaze me every time. I original purchased the Sony 1.7 x and returned it for this one. It was a bit to large and bulky and it did not allow me to use it with a filter. Andy in customer made this recommendation for me.
